The best way to experience any quality bakery is to let your eyes and nose work in tandem to take in all the tantalizing blending of ingredients used to create the many culinary delights we are known for. Pies, breads, dumplings, turnovers, cinnamon rolls, scones, muffins, pot pies, quiche, and more!
Pies
All of our products are handmade from scratch. The apple and pear products are truly unique home grown edibles with apples and pears grown right here on trees that are over 100 years old. Everything made in our kitchen is truly handcrafted much the way your mother or grandmother used to make. We are known locally for our pies that are made right here from the crust up. Starting with our traditional two crust apple Cover's Special, the much requested crumb topping Dutch apple, the truly unique Sour Cream Apple, the everchanging seasonal pie including strawberry, strawberry/rhubarb, blueberry, apricot, peach, pumpkin, pecan; the tantalizing fruit medley made with blueberries, raspberries and pears (yes, pears!) and to date everyone that tries it is captivated by its entrancing bouquet of flavors. Boysenberry is always a favorite, but the crown jewel of the parade of pies is the mammoth Mile High Apple Pie.

Not an undertaking for the novice, the Mile High is made using 12 cups of apples, every one of them peeled and sliced by hand. Arranged in a carefully constructed towering pyramid of spices and our own antique variety of winesap apples, then it's covered with an over sized crust and baked to golden perfection. Pies are not the only delicacy we make that excites the salivary glands. Apple dumplings, dripping with sauce, and half-moon style turnovers with shredded apple and seasonal filling are great with a cup of coffee. Fresh cookies available daily in chocolate chip, m-n-m chip, gingersnaps, oatmeal snowflakes, snickerdoodles, chocolate covered special -K bars, and the one-of-a-kind cover kiss right out of our own childhood memories.
Crisps and Other Pastries
One of our most popular items is our apple crisp which is assembled on a cooking sheet with a layer of crust, apple filling, topped off with a crunchy, buttery, crumb top; we also make a pumpkin crisp in the fall over Thanksgiving.

Breads
Bread is another favorite item at Cover's. Traditional shaped loaves of whole wheat, white, and 11-grain, German Rye and Cinnamon Swirl are baked fresh without additives or preservatives. When you visit the deli, you can pick any of these to hold our selection of sandwich fillings. All traditional breads are $3.75 a loaf.
In the mood for something different? Try our Bubble Bread! This specialty item is only available on weekends, and it goes fast! Try the Garlic Bubble Bread - it's a great addition to almost any meal. For Sunday morning, the Apple Bubble Bread is a special treat - put it in a medium over to warm and fill the house with sweet cinnamon scents. Bubble Breads are $4.95 each.
Take & Bake
Forget the frozen food section of your grocery store, once you try our frozen pot pies none other will satisfy. Our pot pies are filled with all the best, just like Mom would make. Take them home, bake in the oven and have a wonderful dinner without the fuss. Our varieties include Chicken Pot Pie, Ham Pot Pie, Veggie Pot Pie, and Chicken Enchiladas. The pot pies are $13.75 and the enchiladas are $8.50. Youcan also get a whole quiche for $13.75. |
